Haringey is one of London’s 33 boroughs and is located in the north of the capital with a total population of around 258,900 as at the last census.
Haringey has very high levels of deprivation and is the 6th most deprived borough in London. It has one of the highest rates of homelessness in the country with around 3,000 households living in temporary accommodation. Haringey’s population is the fifth most ethnically diverse in the country.
Almost two-thirds of its population, and over 70% of young people, are from ethnic minority backgrounds, and over 100 languages are spoken in the borough.
Haringey is the most unequal Borough in London, with over half of its wards being either very rich or very poor.
